all is in the title ;-) I have an old HOT-555 i430VX-based mobo and I wonder if the latest BIOS firmware I found will eventually enable me to break the 8GB disk size limit under Win98SE ;-) I'm ready to flash from BIOS rev. 55XWUQ07 to 55XWUQ0E but will do so only if there is a chance that it improves extended Int13H support Else I will revert to using EZ-Drive, but I would hate that. Any specialist of Award BIOSes is welcome ;-) Don't googlelize, I did and found nothing to answer this (simple) question : "what is the minimum revision number of a given Award BIOS so that it supports Int13H disk LBA extensions?" |

| failed to recognize the 20GB hard drive, and this 0E revision of the BIOS was the latest available for this mainboard. so I'm back at the EZ-Drive solution. Points will go to the first constructive comment posted ;-) |
