Does tools(like purify for C) exist?
Does Pascal have odbc driver for informix database?

Delphi does. Delphi is Pascal with database odbc for most databases.

I don't know what purify is.

As far as i know tools like that do not exist for pascal.

As for odbc driver, pascal does not support it. Use Delphi in order to do what ever u want, with delphi u can do enything there are no limitations...

you permit ? ;-)

Of course Purify may run on Pascal-generated executables, but it won't find anything wrong, except the "habitual" leaks in Zindoze's DLLs ;-))))

Pascal as itself, like C per se, does NOT have any specific DB vendor support, but the IMPLEMENTATIONS of Pascal exist in many flavours (Turbo, UCSD, Free, Delphi, Kylix), some of the latest have of course Informix access, and without the clumsy ODBC ;-)
(working through ODBC is possible , too ;-)

The last versions of Delphi/Kylix may have Informix enabled, I'm not sure for Delphi 4 because it would be via the BDE which I don't use.

I want to access an informix database on Solaris. How to do??
By: monange Date: 14/01/2003 23:00:00 English  Type : Comment
You'll need the Professional version of Delphi to do that. There's examples of accessing various databases with the kit.

don't be confused. "pro" version of delphi is only the second one in the order of gaining power ;-)

personal, professional, enterprise, architect

To access from Windows a DB residing on Solaris or on AIX does not pose any problem with whatever version of Delphi IMHO

You phrase is ambiguous, it cousl lead people to think that you also want to develop on Solaris, hence suggesting Kylix in stead.

my program has to run on solaris. So use Delphi, it's little bit clumsy

not Delphi, Kylix - if ever delivered in source to be adapted and recompiled for Solaris -
And it's not clumsy at all ;-)

Anyway, your question has now very little to do with Pascal, except perhaps FreePascal, which I don't know at all concerning support of Informix.

Personally, I would do it with PHP
