I have managed to setup a webserver and its accessible to the public. The issue is we have about 10 domains to host three of them need to have ssl protection. I have setup the needed virtual host settings in Apache. My research brings me to the conclusion that one cannot apply ssl to multiple domain on a virtual host. Is this correct? Isn't there any workaround?

Say if i was to apply it to one domain and then create a folder under the root of that domain, into which i will store the precesses that need the ssl protection. Then when a user tries to access them i will redirect to the SSL protected domain and serve those files afterwards i switch them back to the normal site.

IF the above will work what are the implications for the URL that the user will see. I suppose the address will change and they might wonder why the switch to a different site?

1 virtual host = 1 domain name, no ?

or you mean you've only one domain name but still want many VHosts, out of which some only are SSLized ? Hummm I don't know if this is possible, I never tried.

What does the apache.org documentation say ?

I think i found the solution IP Aliasing. I am yet to try it but sounds like what i need.
