I want to have a standards-compliant browser and improve my PC's security level. In short, I want a real browser. A lot of web sites tell me that I use an unsecure browser and sometimes refuse to send me the pages until I upgrade. I want thus to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 (or should I say Internet Exploder ?) because it caused me headaches and tough white nights and bad sleeping for days. I tried but can't make it. It seems Microsoft linked it very tighly to its "operating system". How can I get rid of this pest ?

It's a very good idea, but I'm not concerned so I'd have a tough time answering you with a step-by-step techie procedure :D (and yes, I'm very happy not to be concerned, sorry for you) I only use real software, not bloated malware ;-) BUT there are people claiming they can make it : http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/uninstall/ It's a commercial software, but such is Internet Exploder. I think it's the best approach. My only other recommendation would be the "Microsoft support guy's typical answer" : reformat drive, reinstall OS ;-) (without internet exploder 7, of course) don't forget to upgrade to FireFox before you uninstall IE7. This way you can surf within seconds, while IE7 is uninstalled ;-)
