Hi all, I having to design an e-portal now (4 an educational institution), and I do know its going to be a dynamic site. I'm having it for PHP/MySQL but this is my first time. Its definitely going to be hosted in the school but I need advice and links to find more information. I'll appreciate help in this regard and also in further inquires through this medium b4 this thread is closed. Thanks in regard. |

| ok, I suggest that you start with a maquette in (D)HTML, to get the end user agreement on the layout, information displayed, CSS, level of standards conformance (ie, do you have to support IE6 "IE6 no more" ? or just normal modern browsers compliant with CSS2+ ?) Then build the database layout accordingly to the information to store and retrieve. Then kindly transform the HTML pages in PHP scripts, retrieving the information from the DB Then build a CMS to enter information into the DB that's all :D Please pay attention to the OWASP 2.1 Guide recommendations about security, authentication etc |
