I have a program written in Quattro Pro v5.5 (dos version) which I am trying to run under Windows XP Home on a Pentium 4 with 256Mb RAM. The files load ok but I keep getting the message "Not enough memory for that operation". I would be grateful for advice on how to re-configure memory to overcome the problem. The program ran well on a very early Pentium (also on a 486!) Thanks for any assistance ..Regds..digiT |

| I think you'll need to add what used to be a "PIF" file, because that old 16 bits app won't manage its memory correctly on XP (ie NT, 32 bits moreover) It's like trying to find benzine for a Maserati on roads in the Middle Age first run it, go to the task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del is convenient, or right-click the taskbar and choose the option), look at the memory consumption under Processus/ntvdm.exe Perhaps setting "properties" for the shortcut will enabe you to tell Quattro Pro what to get as XMS/EMS memory ? |
