I can't renew my IP address!!! Help ! I did nothing wrong ! this stupid microsoft message appeared during my sleep last night ! I checked all the connections for cables, then I verified that the network still worked with another computer on the same hub, then I verified the 54g wifi network. I also tried to swap the NIC from its PCI slot to an other, to no avail. I changed it also (I have spare ones). Didn't change a bit. I already rebooted a lot of times, so the "Microsoft-Customer-Support style" of helping tip like "reboot first" doesn't work this time :/ |

| Known big bug from Microsoft (again) The winsock DLL is broken, you need to patch it using this Winsock Repair: http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html Then you probably have also to patch your Registry using the RegEdit4 file on this site Regards and GOOD LUCK ;-) |

| I tried so many things I can't be sure any one of the above techniques do the trick. Anyway, they must be a part of the final success so to Bernard the points ;-) | |||
