Well, I'd suggest Delphi, but I'm biased.

It depends on what you want to do.

Some tools are perfect for simple things, but impossible to use for bigger things.

Some tools have a STEEEP learning curve, where you don't get anything going
for days, weeks, even months, but then pay off in the long run.

Some tools can do Web Pages well, but nothing else.

Others can do number-crunching programs, but not much more.

Others are swell at massaging text, but lousy at other things.

Some interface well with other funny things, like DLL's, COM objects, Web pages/servers,
databases, others do it grudgingly, others not at all.

Some do superb graphics, (well, with some work), others cant draw anything.

Some will run on most any computer, others need a type 78 CPU with 133M of RAM.

I guess it depends on what you'd like to DO.

tad biased aren't we? still, we're all entitled to our opinion. personally i think delphi is bug-ridden and unworkable for professional applications. although i admit VB isn't much better ;)

you might want to try both, vb and delphi, and perhaps vc++/dev-cpp if you can find some decent tutorials or a good book.

Hello.... nice covesation isnt it our friend asked between Visual Basic or D2k. Well if its an oracle based application ie highly database integrated go for D2K, else VB will be fine.
