I have a few projects that I want to go further on. I am really interested in the Roxio Easy CD 6.0 Interface, the NeoDVD interface and the Yahoo and Google tool-bars. I am trying to understand how those projects are possible. I can't find any examples of code to allow me to interface my application with with the IE interface or the Windows System bar. I also am stuck with Square windows. I really want to be able to add a cool GUI like the ones listed above. Can anyone help me, shed some light on my issue or point me in the right direction. Jamie |

Hello Jamie, Now suppose ur using VB(u didnt mention if u were), u can create cool & interesting UI. Now Roxio & neoDVD uses the same techniques. All u need is to create regions using some APIs like createEllipticalRegion etc. Use the link below to download a sample program made by me which can help u to create interesting forms instead of the boring rectangular. Follow the link... <A HREF="http://mzubair.f2g.net/downloads/NewInterface.zip">http://mzubair.f2g.net/downloads/NewInterface.zip</a>

lol ... poor java you can do those type of projects using WIN32 API or Visual C++ & MFC. There are lots of examples using any of those. Not sure if you'll be able to accomplish the toolbar with Java without the use of a little JINI thoguh

What did the programmers of the Google and Yahoo bars use to code their integrated toolbars? Jamie

I believe they used the MFC. A MS Tutorial is available at: <A HREF="http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/commctls/faq/ietoolbar.asp">http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/commctls/faq/ietoolbar.asp</a>
