My friend wants to get into programming and he's found Borland Delphi 4 Standard he does not need the new stuff, he's just learning, what he wants to know is if he buys it, can he sell anything he might produce with it? he claims there's a serial number etc etc with it, so does anyone know? Basically, can he sell applications he produces with Borland Delphi 4 Standard? |

| A Delphi personal edition can be used for learning and building Non-Commercial Applications, so not. If He want to sell Delphi developed apps it must upgrade to a professional or an enterprise edition... |

| Hello Ferruccio68, VGR is right, with D4 standard you can use it for commerical applications Borland stoped to produce a standard edition and replaced it with persoanl edition from D6 or D5, and you can use the personal edition as learning tool only Best regards Mohammed Nasman |

| I have a copy of D4 standard... and YES you can sell programs developed with it :-) Later on they changed the license for the 'personal' editions...there is no longer a Standard edition available. |

| Right, because i noticed Delphi Personal is cheaper to get ahold of than Standard... Ok thanks folks.... |
