I have a program which changed location (path) ; the old service is still in place with an incorrect path-to-executable, so it won't start. There is no option to delete a service from the services "management" console. I can't say "uninstall" because I dont have any executables at this old path. And because the (old) service is already there, I can't install the new one ! (overwriting the old one would have been the proof of any sign of intelligence at microslop) How to delete this broken service ? |

| easy. 1) check there are no dependencies (for a broken service, this would be surprising) 2) open regedit ("start"/"démarrer" button, "run"/"exécuter", enter "regedit<CR>") 3) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services 4) find line of broken service 5) amend "path" entry or delete whole key 6) close regedit 7) that's all 8) good luck :D |

| You can try the sc command. To delete a service, open a shell (cmd) and type: sc delete <service name> If the service's name contains spaces then you must use "<service name>" Then reboot. |
