Hello All,

I've this problem with a PC. After initiating Restart on win XP from the desktop (i.e. Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart), sometimes the PC justs shutdown but the CPU Fan still spins and the LED on the front panel of the PC is ON.

I've searched the Internet and combed some forums. The closest to this problem was one where a PC restarted after shutdown sequence was initiated, and I tried using the info. there but all to no avail.
Is there a way out?

Thanks in advance.

could it be that you mis-plugged some of the very small connectors around the motherboard ? the ones marked "CPU FAN", "RESET", etc

usually black and very small with two or three pin holes, all punched into two 2x8-pins switches.

other than that, it could be related to a BIOS settings.
