Hi all, I know this forum doesn't have a section for mobile technology but just in case someone with some experience about wap development can help. I can develop .wml page to be previewed on a wap phone browser emulator software installed on my system (I use apache web-server configured to deliver wap content to wap-enabled mobile phones). Now, can I have such a mobile phone access the .wml pages on my system through bluetooth technology, not having the pages hosted on the internet? Thanks in advance. |

| Yeah VGR, My laptop has bluetooth support and I can set my laptop and my phone 2 c each other. Remember dat my server is not on the internet (its just a testing server) but I think I can use my computer name since it can be resolved. However, my concern is with configuring the WAP Gateway Software so to recieve requests from the phone, and phone Access Point Settings. How do I go about these? Remember dat its the wap gateway that will delivered right content to the phone. Thanks in advance. |

| I've always had big trouble configuring an access point ; in fact, it never worked out. Sorry, I can't help. Besides, I hate wifi and "blue touffe", I use the CPL (courant porteur en ligne), definitely better... A technology of 1987 (on Mac) that came back into favour in 2008... | |||

| Hi VGR, Well, The thing I came 2 c is that Bluetooth provides two profiles that can make this work. Personal Area Network (PAN) and Serial Port Profile (SPP)/Dial-up Network (DUN). I found PAN 2 b easily used for what I wanted to do only that my phone doesn't support PAN (U know dat the two devices must support the profile b4 it can be used). When I c such a phone, I'll try it out again and share my experiences. The other way (using SPP/DUN) is 2 lengthy and dull. I just ignored it. Thanks 4 ur contributions VGR anyway. |
